I have an opportunity to buy an unfired 4" Python in electroless nickel at $450. My gut says this is a good buy. No box or manual but appears unfired. If I can get it do I hurt myself using it as a shooter???
Thanks for the input

JUMP on that thing.
That's an excellent price for any unfired Python.

Whether you take a ding on value if you shoot it: There weren't that many electroless nickel Pythons made, but the lack of the original box and papers lessen the collectability, and possible value.

I'd say shoot it, and enjoy.

now that colt makes pythons again, i would think the collectability is less than it was anyway. Jump on it, new they're $950

$450 for any Python in any finish of any age is a great price. Go for it.

If you doubt my opinion, just go over to gunbroker.com and check out the auctions that have ended in the last few months. The guns that have sold did so for far more than $450.

Examination of the frame will tell you at a glance. There's a taper or bevel on the top strap of the frame right atop of where the barrel is. On the Python, the top strap of the frame is flush with the barrel. I was thinking of making a forgery myself, but couldn't bear to wrench apart a respectable Trooper to make a Pooper.

Standing Wolf - would you buy a used Python from me? ;)

So, HRT, did cha by it?

Sorry Standing Wolf - I wrote that in jest and there is none for sale.
