I am wondering how well QD scope mounts handle heavy recoiling magnum's. I am looking into buying the new 375 Ruger. I don't currently, nor have I ever owned a 375 of any make, but have shot the H&H and do know that it has a fair amount of thump to it. I'm not going to Africa but am planning Alaska and the thought of having both scope and iron sights is compelling to me. Does anyone know how well they stay zeroed in, or if they are worth the money and just pick scope or iron and be happy.

I've got a Leupold QRW setup on my .458 Winnie and they hold up just fine (3 years and a few hundred full power rounds). Talley also makes a superb set, it's twice the price but some of the big bore guys I shoot with have a lot more experience than me and swear by them.

I have never seen Larues on a sporting rifle, I think that's one for mounting an expensive red dot on an AR isn't it?:)
