I bought my dad a 6" 19 for Christmas, and it needs an action job. Everything is tight and nice, but the trigger isn't nearly as nice as it could be.

Anyone have experience with QPR in Denver/Aurora?

he is a very good guy.

lots of experience working on the smith K-frame building PPC gun when he was with Bill Davis and armorer with the CHP

tell him Tang says "hi" too

Morgan, those are the guys that built my Seecamp, if you have money they have time.

Milt is supposedly one of the best, if not THE best smith in the area when it comes to handguns. Due to backlogs some work can take longer, but Ive never been dissatisfied.

Dad has used Milt's services a lot on his Ruger revolvers and I'm planning on having a free-spin pawl done on my Vaquero my Milt.

Thanks, guys. With such glowing reference I may just have to let him work my backup ankle gun as well.

When Ruger wanted to ship a bird's-head-gripped Vaquero, they went with the Qualite bird's-head grip frame.

They wouldn't have done that if they were junk.

(Note: Qualite doesn't do grip panels so they went to Hogue for those. Ruger went with Lett. So while the grip frames are identical, grip feel is a little bit different although I doubt it's very significant.)

I've certainly been impressed with their show pieces at Tanner shows. What with all this praise as well, I think I'll take my 686 in sometime.

Well, I dropped off my Dad's 19 for a "Target" tune and my trusty backup ankle 642 for a "Duty" tune today. Milt was friendly, didn't mind answering my dumb questions, and understood my desire for a quick turnaround on my backup. We chatted about cops and guns for a few, and I'm looking forward to picking up the pieces soon.

I'll post a review when both are done.
