Just bought my first AK, an Arsenal SGL 24-61.

Does anyone have experience with Timbersmith (made by Tapco), Ironwood Designs, or any other USA manufacturer of wood furniture? I am particularly concerned with fitment.

I think any of these are going to require some degree of fitting. With Ironwood, the dimensions are slightly oversize to accommodate variations/tolerances in different AK models. Some sanding and some trial fitting should be all that is required. The stock is slightly (about 1/16 of an inch wider) than the receiver at both ends of a Saiga and Romak. That could be sanded down, of course. Not sure how on the mark their pre-drilled hardware holes are (I drilled my own).

By comparison, I had to do a fair amount of fitting of a Polish military AKM stock into a Romanian ROMAK-I (with the proper compliance parts, of course). While it was flush on both sides of the receiver in terms of width, but the insert into the rear of the receiver was way off (too long and too high).
