Question about a gun in a movie

I have watched the movie

3000 miles to Graceland.

I am wondering if the little full auto used by one of the characters, I believe Franklin, is an AR variant or if its something else. I have looked at it for a while and cant make it out. Any input is appreciated. thanks.

It is an AR variant with a Beta C-mag. Possibly a DPMS "Kittycat", but it looks like it has a funky carry handle on it.
