A friend of mine is looking to find a mag that will allow greater than the xd's factory 12 rounds. Does anyone know of any available mags that allow for this, or mags for other guns that can be modified to be used safely in the XD..

I recently modified a 32 round browning high power mag to function flawlessly in my steyr M9-A1....

hoping there is such an easy solution for his xd as well....internet searches are not turning up much information for me.

found a possibility of using a high capacity cz mag after modifying it by drilling the xd type latch in the front center of the mag... has anyone had any experience with this?

Oooh, Oooh, I have an answer! :D

Was reading the newest American Rifleman, and there is a guy that makes 20 round magazines for the Beretta 92, Sig P226, and Springfield XD. Now, AR lists his site as www.mauser.org but I can't find anythign about these magazines there. They are called Mitchell's Mauser magazines, though.

thank you.. I appreciate that... seems like not many know much about his topic... cannot elicit much information as you can see..

Mitchell Mauser

I called the company after reading about these in American Rifleman the other day and they aren't shipping for 6-8 weeks. To top it off they run $50.00 each.

The guy I spoke with, while not rude, was not a friendly type. He seemed short and uninterested in answering any questions.

I guess when you have the market cornered on a particular product, customer courtesy and service are not a requirement.
:scrutiny:

ha... well.. if I was going to do that, I would just get the 9mm with a 20 round capacity...

unfortunately, at this point, that is far out of the price range.
