did the northern navy use a revolver other then the 1851 colt navy?

I'm bad about my history and I can't seem to figure out who used what in the navy during the civil war.

thanks for the info, last question, does anyone still make good quality reproductions of the 1851 navy?

Yes they do. You can find 2nd and 3rd gen Colts still NIB. I'm reasonably sure both Uberti and Pietta still make the 51.
If your interested in revolvers from the war of northern aggression, High Standard made a three gun series that show up on gunbroker sometimes. These are based on the 51 Navy.

These are repro's of the Schneder & Glassick, Griswold & Gunnison, and the Leech & Rigdon.

I bought a copy of CIVIL WAR SMALL ARMS OF THE U.S. NAVY AND MARINE CORPS by John McAulay. Great book, lots of info and pics.
