I have a Remington 700 in .308 with a 5R barrel and am looking for a good cleaning rod guide for my rifle. Lucas rod guides have come highly recommended but current delivery time is 4-6 weeks, so I will need something else in the meantime.

I have always used Dewey cleaning rods so I figured why not use a Dewey Rod guide, so I wrote in and asked them which model that I would need and they told me I needed the ABS-3S adjustable bore saver rod guide...

The ABS-3S is for .30-8mm, which as I understand it is a very different round than the .308 -- Are the rod guides for these two rounds compatible, or are the guys over at Dewey just confused?

Might just be me but I'm reading your ".30-8mm" as them saying from .30 caliber to 8mm and your .308 is of course .30 caliber.

Zactly.

A .30 - 8mm rod guide is the same guide that will work in any bore size from .30 cal to 8MM cal.

There is only .015" thousandths of an inch difference.
Or way smaller then a north-bound Knats south end.

Which is just a little bigger then a Frog Hair.
