I was watching Shooting USA on The Outdoor Channel last night. They were talking about the M1 Garand matches where ten shot groups are fired on targets 200 yards away. I think they said it was prone, sitting, and standing.
I didn't see any targets though. The Garands were, of course, being fired with only iron sights. Each shooter had a spotter.
What kind of groups are they getting at 200 yards prone? How big is the ten ring on those targets?
I'm happy with 1 1/2" groups @ 100 yards with my scoped .30-06 bolt action but I sure don't know how well I'd do with iron sights at 200 yards, let alone standing.
