I shot my new VEPR K for the first time yesterday. 200 rds went off without a problem.

When I got home to clean it, I noticed that right below the mouth of the chamber inside the reciever, there is a small metal plate held in place by an allen screw. On mine, this plate is a little loose. It has come to my attention that this plate is supposed to be tight.

Would there be any reason why I couldn't just take an allan wrench and tighten it down? Does anyone with an allen wrench set know what size allen wrench I would need for this screw?

The gun is a VEPR K 7.62x39 w/muzzle break.

I have no idea and I own that same model gun.

Call up Robinson Armament and ask them. Their service guys will tell you what you need to know. They are pretty darn helpful.

Sounds like a feedramp. Shouldn't be a big deal - just take the allen screw out, clean it and the area up with some acetone and then apply some red Loctite on the screw, screw the feedramp back in and you shouldn't have anymore problems.

I spoke with RA, and they said it would be fine to just apply some locktite and then tighten it down myself. Sounds like everything should be alright. Thanks.

I just stuck a #3 Metric Allen Wrench in the screw, but it didn't fit like it should have. I think it's not a standard hex-head. The #3 fits the best out of my hex-head wrenches, but it still has a little play in it.
