Question about parallax effect at closer ranges

For some reason I wasn't thinking when I bought my leupold vx-I 2-7x33 for my slug gun. I got the regular rifle scope instead of the shotgun version. The main difference is the rifle version is set to be parallax free at 150 yards, while the shotgun version is set to be parallax free at 75 yards. All of my shots will be < 75 yards. On deer sized game is having this scope set to 150 going to make a huge difference when shooting at say 30 or 40 yards? I'm not talking about paper punching here, but killing deer. I want to make sure I'm not going to be 6" off. I know if I anchor my head the same way on the gun each time I can minimize the effect also. Thanks for any insight you can provide. I believe I can send the scope to leupold and for a fee have them change the parallax on it, but probably not in time for this deer season.

At lower power settings it won't matter much at all.

It might move a couple inches at most at 7x at mid-range.

Way to find out is set the rifle in a cardboard box with v-blocks cut in it, or rifle rest, and look through the scope at a target at 25, 50, 75, and 100 while moving your head from side to side or up & down.

How much ever the cross-hairs move on the target is how much off you "could" be if your eye wasn't perfectly centered.

According to Leupold:
"At short distances, the parallax effect does not affect accuracy."
The max difference at 4x between 100 & 150 yds- is .2"
The max difference at 4x between 150 & 500 yds- is .8"
