Last weekend I decided, in my infinite wisdom , that it would be a good idea to put some new Wolff springs in my 642. Well, while everything was apart, I managed to lose the hand torsion spring :banghead: . I called S&W and they sent me some new ones (I ordered some extras just in case). The springs they sent do not look the same as waht was in there originally. The original spring was straight on both ends with a couple of coils in the middle. The new ones have the short arm bent at a 90 degree angle. The long arm is still straight. They are also a different color. The original was a kind of brassy yellow color and the new ones are typical metal/steel color. I tried putting one in and it didn't fit right. When I put the bent section of the short arm into the trigger, the long arm doesn't appear to be in the proper position to engage the hand. Are these the correct springs? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
