Question about Saiga 5.45 gas tube.

I have a UTG quad rail that I recently tried to put on a converted 5.45 Saiga. It appears the diameter of the gas tube is too wide for the rail to slide over it. Is the Saiga tube wider than the standard AK 74 tube? If so, can I replace the Saiga tube with an AK 74 gas tube? If that will work, where can I find an AK 74 gas tube? If this won't work, is the only answer going with some other type of optics mounting system?
