It is completely legal for two resident's of a state to trade handguns correct? Do you both have to be resident's of the same state? Oh and neither person has a ffl license. I am new at gun trading, buying, and selling before I go read the entire ATF law, wanted to ask on this fourm. If I were to go to another state I could not trade a handgun with the resident of the other state? Let me know I appreciate all your help and advice

You can legally trade handguns with another person in the same state as you as long as both of you are a legal resident of said state.

You cannot legally sell or trade a firearm to an individual who is not a legal resident of the state you are a resident of. It must be transferred thru an FFL.

I think it would be wise to have a bit of knowledge on the individual you are trading with. If its a friend, no problem but if its joe blow on the street then you might want to do the transfer thru an FFL. You don't need to, but if you have no knowledge of the individual then it protects you to do so.

in Florida Face to Face trades and purchases are perfectly legal.
No paperwork or anything is Required. As long as you're both residents of Florida.
You wouldn't believe how many transfers happen in a McDonalds parking lot.

Doing the sale with the Resident of another state is a no-no as well as going to another state.
