My friend and fellow RKBA activist Lars Ditzel (who also happens to be a silent lurker on THR) came across the following two quotes by George Washington. Actually they seem to be two different variations of the same quote.
Do you know the exact source and where one could get the full text of the speech? I'd greatly appreciate your help.

"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the people's liberty teeth keystone... The rifle and the pistol are equally
indispensable... more than 99% of them by their silence indicate that they
are in safe and sane hands. The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere
restrains evil interference. When firearms go, all goes, we need them every
hour." - President George Washington (Address to 1st session of Congress)
"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence. . . From the hour the Pilgrims landed to the present day, events, occurrences, and tendencies prove that to ensure peace, sucurity, and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable. . . The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference; they deserve a place of honor with all that's good. . . A free people ought to be armed."
- George Washington speech, Jan. 7, 1790, printed in the "Boston Independent
Chronicle", Jan. 14, 1790.
