I'm ordering one tomorrow, are they the decocker only model or do they have the manual safety?

I bought a -9M from them a couple years back, they had the decocker version and a DAO version, I picked the decocker version. I think the only ones with a manual safety are the USG versions, but I might be wrong.

I figured that at the price they're selling them for they were decocker only, which is what I want, but figured I'd ask. Wish I could find an FNP-9M, the grip on the full size is a little too long for me to conceal.
Does anybody know if FN discontinued the FNP's for the FNX? FN USA doesn't list the different FNP model numbers anymore and everywhere except CDNN seems to be out of the 9mm.

AFAIK...
FN will be selling the FNX-9, FNX-40 & FNP-45 series of pistols and Browning will be selling the FNP-9 & FNP-40 series of pistols.

The FNP-9 and FNP-40, will be sold as the Pro-9 and Pro-40 by Browning.

I guess that makes sense, there was a rumor that FN stopped production of the black slide models and every Browning Pro I've seen had the stainless slide. I might have to get an FNX-9 eventually as well, I really like the new black barrel with stainless slide look.

This gun started out as a Browning, but was dropped because of poor sales. Selling it under the FN name revived interest. Now the old version is going to be a Browning again. Makes no sense.

I wasn't aware the Browning Pro had been discontinued, but I was never really interested in the Browning version due to the magazine disconnect safety and the Browning markings all over the gun.

You could call and ask them; the people I've talked to on the other end of the phone were really helpful & courteous in answering my questions.

I just ordered one, $461 with free shipping. I think it's decocker only, but for that price I'd buy it either way, especially since everybody else is out of the two-tone version, which strangely is all CDNN has left.

FCastle88, I'm looking for a USG and that's an excellent price. I tried to get to the CDNN web site, but it looks like you can't order anything but accessories from the web site. Did you call them directly and order over the phone?

I highly doubt they're the USG model since the USG's usually go for $525-$550 online, and their catalog didn't mention a manual safety, but they said I should have mine by wednesday or thursday, so I can let you know if you don't order one by then. You can download their catalog on the website but it doesn't have much info on the guns. They only sell guns over the phone for some reason, they already had my dealer's FFL on file so I just had to give them my credit card number and billing info, it was much quicker than I thought it would be, I was on the phone for 5 minutes tops. The guy on the phone said they only had the two-tone model left, and they had about 70 of them.

Thanks. From the research I've been doing, the 2 tone seems only to be available with the USG, so it smells like you've order a USG. The other interesting thing is that on some sites they charge less for the USG/manual safety version.

Yeah, give me a holler when you get the gun please.

The other thing you could do is ask the manufacturer's product number, which for the USG is 47960.

The dark earth frame is only available in USG, all the other models are available in either decocker only or USG versions. 47960 is the black slide USG, 47568 is the stainless slide USG, and 47830 is the stainless slide decocker only. I held a stainless slide model at a gun show a couple months ago and it didn't have the safety. The price difference is strange, pretty much everywhere I checked the USG was slightly more expensive, sometimes as much as $50 higher.

I finally got the FNP today, it's decocker only if anybody's still interested.

how do you like it so far?

The only model not offered in decock only was the Dark earth fwiw.

ALso the fnp9m was discontinued a few years back.

the FNP is still being produced and will continue as well at the FNX

I've only been able to dry-fire it so far, it's about what you would expect for the price. There is a little bit of play in the slide to frame fit, though not as much as my glock, the DA trigger pull is a little heavier than I'd like and the trigger seems to lean very slightly to the right in DA mode, I'd also prefer a little more weight for it's size, the .40 is a couple ounces heavier and felt slightly better when I held one in a store. The sights are metal and nicer than standard glock sights but they could have been finished a little better. Overall, not bad for $485 including transfer, don't know if I'd pay $600 for one though. was hoping to take it to the range this weekend but we're supposed to get a big snowstorm tomorrow so that might have to wait.
Also, FN USA only has the 10rd FNP's listed, so I'm wondering if they're just keeping them for the California market.
