Question for speed strip users...

Many moons ago when I carried a revolver daily, I used the speed strips occasionally. I never owned or used a pouch, I stiffed the strips into my pockets, (coat, pant, etc.)

used to carry two in a bifold wallet in the credit card slots. this was back when I had two speedloaders on a duty rig and back when I had a 31 inch waist and could not carry any more stinkin gear (the radio had to go in my back pocket too).

I also use a nylon pager pouch that carries two speedstrips perfectly, one facing in each direction.

I carried a S&W model 60 for 30 years as a back up with speed strips in my shirt pocket. When I started in law enforcement and before I bought my first set of speed loaders I carried speed strips in a pouch on my sam browne, but that was many years ago.

I bought the pouch from Dillon and was not impressed, if you slightly bump it the snap would release and there goes your strip on the ground. I usually stick mine in the small watch pocket on my jeans

Then and now - -

When I used to carry a 4" Model 19 in uniform, we were required to carry a six- or twelve loop slide. In addition, I carried a Don Hume dump pouch with a Speed Strip in it.

In recent years, when the mood seized me to carry a revolver, I'd either carry the old Hume pouch with a Speed Strip, or just a Strip in pocket.

Since I retired, I frequently carry an alloy frame snub and one or two Strips in my right hip pocket. They ride nicely with my pocket hanky (okay, a folded bandana) and are not at all uncomfortable to sit upon.

Best,
Johnny

super trucker, when I have a crappy snap I either replace it (they sell little kits at cloth stores), or I squish the male end in a vise to make it fit a bit better. does anyone know if all the Dillon pouches like that? I have been meaning to get one.

This is my first post, love the board. I carry a Glock 23 on duty and my first bg was a taurus 850. I carried one speed strip in a latex glove pouch. I stuffed a wad of styro faom wrapped in duct tape in the bottom and placed speed strip on top. works great on regular belts and cost half as much as specialized strip pouch.

Welcome dtf08
The new guy buys the ammo. ;)
Like Erich, mine go into the “watch” pocket when the trousers have one. Otherwise they go loose in a pocket. I don’t even own a drop pouch any more.

I have carried a speed strip in the Dillion pouch for over 6 months now. My snap has stayed nice and secure. I am considering getting another for my offside as well. I can carry strips in my pockets, but I'd never find them amoungst all the other crap packed in there. These pouches make it easier for me. I carry mine on my belt in plain sight, (no cover garment) and no a single person has said a thing to me about it.

I always thought the whole point of a speedstrip was to ride easily in a pocket. If im going to put a pouch on my belt its gonna have a speedloader in it.

When I carried a M 15 on duty I carried speed strips in drop puch on the sam brown. Now I just put the speed strip in my pocket. I still wish they came in other calibers. But, I know that will never happen so I should get over it.

2 speed strips carried facing oppisite directions in my change/watch pocket. They sit in there like a double stack mag, and they are all but invisible.
