I just picked up a very nice Mark II that has the 4 3/4 barrel and has the silver Ruger emblem with red background. Is this a 50th anniversary Mark II? It has the gray case and all the paper work with it. Serial # 224-86***

If it's not it has to be right after the anniversary models, but I thought the 50th ones had a red case with them.

The 50th Anniversary pistols came with a red case, and had a 50th anniversary roll mark on the top of the receiver, as well as the Ruger emblem on the rear of the bolt, and as a few other details. See pics here:

I bought one new in 1999, and while not that collectable because they made a ton of them, I've kept it unfired, as I have other MK II's to shoot.

I also have a 50th Anniversary model which I leave unfired...it's still in the original grease and wax paper.

The did only come in the red case

Thanks for the replies. This must be a year 2000 made gun. The silver and red emblem threw me for a moment.
