Question on brass

I was looking at the brass offerings on Midway and noticed .45ACP grade 1 and grade3 brass. Yes I understand its brass like I would pick up at the range but I need to ask if the grade 1 brass is a better value vs new brass.

Here's the differences.

Grade 1 Brass has been cleaned, polished, deprimed and the military primer crimp removed (if applicable).

Grade 3 brass has not been cleaned or deprimed.

Only if they are once fired (factory load). If not...New brass is the better deal. If you (they) can't prove (state) that the cases have been fired only once you will have no idea how many times they have been loaded and therefore not a good investment. In doubt? Buy new....

There IS always the fun way to make sure your getting once fired brass...


But yeah, unless you have an assurance that its once fired, go with the new virgin brass.

Grade 1 is OK

I have used the Grade 1 brass in 45 ACP.

It is a great value for general shooting and you do not need to worry about finding every last case.

Forget the Grade 3.

Edit - just noticed they have NEW Remington 45 ACP brass for only $15 more for 500 - why bother
with used brass for that difference?

If you are going to buy new brass try staline don't know the price off hand but prices include shipping

I would not use brand new brass (especially in .45 ACP) unless I was working outside published powder charts. I load the same .45 brass till it splits or I lose it (normally the case.)

I've used quite a bit of MidwayUSA's grade 3 brass, and have had good results with it.
