Question on gunstocks blanks

What is best product to use for sealing the end of a stock blank? This is fresh cut and will need to be dried for a few years.

anchorseal is what i use but its hard to find locally if you don't have a woodcraft store, rockler also sells some green wood sealers that should work fine

Melt a block of paraffin canning wax in a pan and dip the ends in it.

i've used canning wax a few times, i think the local kroger grocery store still carries it.
i like the anchorseal, i picked up a quart a few years go and i just put it in a spray bottle, give it a few squirts and i'm done. it also works well with a paintbrush.
unless your cutting a lot of wood its not something you'll use very often, i've also heard of people using cheap latex house paint and reapplying it every couple of weeks but i think that would get old quick
