I know there is reciprocity between Kentucky and Missouri. What I need to know is what I need to look out for in Missouri. What is the down side of carrying there? Anything I should be aware of?

I have to travel there next week (Republic, Missouri). Any information on the subject would be appreciated.

MO's carry law is pretty similar to KY, from what I understand. Specifically, though, you can carry concealed in the vehicle, you are not legally required to inform LEO, businesses who do not wish you to carry inside have to post prominently (you can only be in trouble if they ask you to leave and you don't, and even then it is a piddly thing).

Springfield might have iffy attitudes from the law enforcement community there, but unless you have to deal with them, no problems.

MO's new Castle Doctrine law also provides defense against civil and criminal charges if you defend yourself while in your vehicle or in an overnight dwelling (that can be anywhere from a hotel room to a house to even a camping tent).

It's a good place to carry firearms.

teknoid if your coming to Southwest MO you should not have any problem at all especially in Republic. I am a little unsure of the Springfield comment, Because I know many of the police and sheriffs deputes as well as the Green County Sheriff and I have yet to meet one that’s not very pro second amendment as well as pro CCW.
