I got two new CZ52's from AIM yesterday...The slide only locks back with two of the four magazines on each gun. The two gray magazines do not lock the slides back at all. One of the black magazines locks the slides back everytime on each gun. The other black magazine usually locks the slide back and also causes the slides on either gun to close as soon as I hit the mag release.

What's the deal here??? How do I fix them so they all work?

Get some new magazine springs.

While you're at it, you should consider ordering one of the stainless steel firing pins, and a Wolff 16 lb. recoil spring. Trust me, you want the recoil spring.

All of these can be ordered from www.makarov.com

They're both unissued guns, the recoil spring seems plenty strong. I'll have to try the mag springs though. I did notice that the followers on the two gray mags do not come up quite as far as the blue ones. I was thinking maybe there were people with some tweaking advice out there. The machined firing pin is too pricey. I may pick one up someday though.

Have you cleaned the grey mags? the one that came w/ my unissued CZ is a wee bit gunky. You should consider the recoil spring as well--even w/ my unissued, brass tends to go flying into the stratosphere. I've also heard that a stiffer recoil spring will tend to tame the recoil a bit. Might help my shooting--I love the '52s, but can't hit much more than the backstop with 'em.

One of the grey mags had some gunk or cosmo collected on the spring so I opened it up and cleaned it out. The other three were good.

check out the mag lips on the problem mags. I bet they are bent in too much not allowing the follower to come up all the way. If they are, just a "tweak" with some needle nose is the cure. This was the cure for the same problem I had, and some other people as well. It took me awhile to figure it out, finally saw the difference between a good mag and a problem mag. Good luck
