The last couple years, I haven't seen the green cases anymore. It's always a dull gray.

Was it the green ones that were lacquer coated? Do they not make them anymore? The pictures on midwayusa are still green. Anyone have the answers?

I realize this is a trivial issue at best, but I always liked the look of the green ones. The red rings would set it off for me.

I use brass in everything else, I go wolf for this because I burn through it so fast.

The Wolf Military Classic is lacquer coated and sounds like what your are thinking of. It's in a camo pattern box of 20 just like the regular wolf in the black box.

Yeah, I should have been more specific. The military classic in the camo package used to be green. Past few times I've bought it it has been gray, so I thought maybe they quit doing that.

I always shoot the Wolf Military Classic in my AK. The lacquer coating is green but Wolf switched to the polymer coating (dull gray) some time back. I have ordered from several places in the last several years and it has all been polymer coated.

I like the red primer and case neck sealant too but interestingly enough my last batch didn't have it. No more tiny red flakes for me to clean out of my gun for a while.

If you like the lacquer coating, get Monarch from Academy or Brown Bear. Its marginally better ammo too.
