My stepdad had an old Stevens 20 ga. that came with a choke tube mounted on the end of the barrel. Is there any way I could do the same thing or something similar to my single shot H&R 12 ga?

The barrel on my H&R is 18 1/2" and the pattern is fairly tight at closer ranges, say about 20 yards or so, but I'd like it to be a little farther if possible. I'm not running buckshot or slugs through it, I mainly shoot turkey load, or similar.

If anyone knows anything about things like this, (I don't know much) I'd appreciate any input or advice you could give.

Thanks.

Thanks. Is it expensive to have a barrel threaded? I'm guessing any good gunsmith could do it?

Any GOOD gunsmith should be able to do it easily and inexpensively enough. The OLD styles were threaded to screw on the outside of the barrel; the new ones screw inside like a regular choke tube does.

I would call Polychoke- they might have a list of folks in your area who sell/install. If not, I noticed Brownell's carries them
