I'm looking at getting into a P7M8 or P7M13. I won't have the chance to handle both but my current CW is a P226 if that helps. Now some questions-What's the prices I should expect to pay for these models NIB?
I prefer the look of hard chrome or nickel--does this change the price up or down?
What's the difference in a hard chrome and factory hard chrome?
This will be strictly for range fun and maybe some CCW. :)

NIB p7m8s are in the 1200-1350 range, and seem to be getting higher in the past couple months. I think p7m13s are closer to 1600, but I like the slimmer models so I haven't priced a 13 in a while.

If you want to get a hard chromed one, I'd buy a used one (800-950) and send it off the Tripps. I think the hard chrome there is a littl over 200. I've gotten all of mine used and got some really good deals on a couple of them, and my PSP is getting worn enough that I might send it in at some point for a hard chrome job.

I'm not sure if they made the 9mm versions in factory nickle (some p7 history buff can probably answer that). General thought seems to be that there were about 1000 p7m10s in blue and 4000 in factory nickle, but those are .40.

There is a guy on GB selling a NIB P7M13 that he claims is a rare "factory hard chrome"? Suspicious?

They are very good guns. Well made, and extremely accurate.

I owned one for a while, but I never carried it because of its funky manual of arms. I shoot 1911s more, and never really warmed up to the squeeze cocker. I could just never get comfortable enough with it to be willing to carry it for defense.

So it was basically just a range toy. I finally ended up trading it off, and am still happy I did. They are fine guns though.

Also, don't overlook the P7 either.

+1. I've sold off all of my p7m8s except for one since I prefer the PSP. I never carry a spare mag though. If I were planning on doing fast mag changes I'd go with the m8, but the psp feels better in my hand. You'll save some cash going with the PSP too.

As for the guy on gunsamerica, it very well could be legit, I've just never seen one. The guys over at park cities would know for sure.

Not really the answer to the question you were asking, but anyway - P7 is an awesome piece in just about every respect, CCW particularly, except being a range gun. At least, for me. It just heats up too fast, which in some circles is quoted as a reason to own more than one:)

Sorry for the minor hijacking.

I paid in excess of $1300 for NIB 2 years ago; I probably could find a better deal.

I got a used P7M8 for $900 with 5 mags a couple years ago. I got a P7 PSP with 1 mag for $700 last year.

I don't think they are offering new guns in anything but the Hostile Environment (black) finish. The M8 is easier to find magazines for, but still expect to pay about $50 per mag. I've never even seen PSP mags for sale and I'd like to get a couple extras.
