Hey, Amigo! :)

Doing a Search for '.454 Casull' , I found some great threads on what is going to be my next revolver purchase, the Ruger Super Redhawk 9.5" .454 Casull.
When I found your pix I was very pleased to see the same type of sight I wanted to use, and the same mode of carry ( maybe the ONLY mode of carry ).

What is the exact model # of the Millett RedDot sight? 1" or 30mm?

I would get it in black, and add Butler Creek flip-ups to it, so if you could include the outside diameter of the tube in inches/mm I could look up the correct caps on my sheet here.

What is the "over the shoulder boulder holder" scoped handgun rig?
I also saw a shoulder holster with ammo loops in the Gary Olen Sportsman's Guide ---
catalog #14733, page 148, for the SRH 9.5" item # LX4X1-84853C - Ruger 9 1/2" Super Redhawk Holster with .44/.45/.480 Loops.

edited to add: I'd like to see a pic of a SRH with the Hogue rubber grip on it, as somone said that helped in 'knuckle protection'...

I just gave my Redhawk 5.5" to my Best Friend last Sunday. He's going to replace it someday with a MkVII Desert Eagle .44, per my request.
In the meantime, I need to fill the top notch in my Ruger revolver collection, and what better way to do that than get a long-tube monster recoil .45 caliber?
I don't have anything in .45 except my Marlin 1895 in .45-70...wanting to try that 535-gr. Sledehammer load I've heard about.
I haven't fired my new Remington 700 / .375 ULTRA MAG yet...
I haven't had a chance to try my Remington 870 Super Mag 3 1/2" 26" bbl. yet either...

You can see I kinda like BOOMERS!
Thanks for the help, P95Carry. ;)

Might be more helpful with the thread link and pix:  ;)
Anybody else have this needed information? Feel free to post any pix of a SRH with a Hogue grip on it, too. Thanks, Gentlemen.

:banghead: (...sound of car tires screeching to a halt...)

I wonder how THAT one would feel when you touched it off?
I wonder what the accuracy level would be.
I wonder if that would be a better choice over the long-tube.
"Get BOTH!"
Oh, rats.

That looks like the conversion I saw in the magazine, only Ruger makes it. That was the 'Alaskan' someone referred to and I thought it was just the shortened bbl. version done by WWG.
I hate it when this happens! Except I haven't made the purchase yet.

Dangit, now I'm all screwed! Can't buy a SBH and that New SRH both at once.
I love the looks of that gun! :banghead: What to do, what to do?

That 'Alaskan' is my new screensaver for awhile.
I think a shot of pepper spray, the muzzleblast and a cylinder full of .454 out that gun would be pretty much the equivalent of a 12-ga. Brenneke slug. Almost.

Having a Super Snub for packing is a whole 'nother thing to think about vs. the 9.5" version with the red dot sight.
 Dilemmas like this are exquisite in their own way, aren't they? :)

BusMaster007,

No doubt! :D I have the SRH in 7 1/2" with an Aimpoint mounted, I just want a single action SBH too. But, this thing is just too cool. It's everything the 4" 500 S&W should be but isn't.

BM007 ... hey! How you doin' .... I am indebted to Larry Ashcraft for bringing this thread to my attention ... a fried mobo on my main PC last week has left me limping! I am on line but struggling for a while.

So Ok ... ID's for you re my gear.... the red-dot is a Millet SP-1 ..... 1 inch compact, 3 minute dot. It fitted straight onto the gun very nicely. Thus far - it has absorbed all ''punishment'' just fine!

The rig .... well, I ordered that after a phone call to .... hmmm... now I forget exactly who. But on the rig is following ....

''Soft Armor'' ..... by Mil-Tech USA. Phone .. 1 800 346 4545 .. tho reading the stiched number that just might be 4645 .. check it out ... plus a web search might help if needed.

I apolagize for late response ... but you mention Hogue grips .. well, here is my other SRH in .44 mag ... that has Hogues ... and I will get round one day to equipping the .454 same way. I like them.

I hope this helps.

Thanks, P95. I hope you get your computer glitches worked out soon.

I've been all over the map with replacing my Redhawk .44 5.5".
What I think I want is a "Hellfire & Thunder" compact sidearm for the hunting trips or hiking/camping. The new Ruger Alaskan would fill that niche perfectly!

But, now I know what it would take to mirror your fine setups.
Much appreciated.
