I know you have a Marbles tang sight on your 1894C and I appreciate any responses you care to give me on these questions: (of course I welcome responses from anyone)

Have you drilled & tapped for that second screw yet? If so, what was your process and how did it go? (I'm thinking I might rather have a gunsmith do this if I get one of these)

Have you used the sights in a low-light situation yet? Have you considered a different front sight for better visibility? If you did, which one would it be?

Do you think that recoil from a heavier caliber would cause a problem with the tang sight so close to your eye?

Does the tang sight interfere with your grip? Or do you keep your thumb on the right side?

In your opinion is the sight sturdy enough to hold up over time? How much of a "bump" would it take to damage it or knock it out of alignment?

Are you using the sight as a "peep" or as a ghost-ring?

Thank you.

Yes I drilled and tapped the second screw and it went reasonably well for an amatuer I used a hand drill to drill the hole and then used a hand tap to thread it. . I have lots of training in handworking as an Industrial Arts teacher. If you do not have good tools then get a Smith to do it.

I think the front sight is adequater for plinking and general target work. I would like to get a 3/32 gold bead or a Ivory/white bead for the woods.

No!

No I still use a cross thumb postion and it has not given me any problems

I think it would take quite a wack to cause it to move but I would be careful of the stem. It is a nice sturdy piece and should last for a good long time.

I use the small peep at the range but mostly keep the medium one in it. I do not like a ghost ring set up, the Marine in me like a more precise aiming setup. I would like to get a Merit adjustable peep for it because I think the removable peeps might have a different point of center

>Thank you.

You are most welcome.
