Good morning, high roaders.

My grandfather died a couple of years ago, and left me quite a few things firearms related. He attempted to join the Airforce during WWII, but was turned away as he had skull surgury when he was a child which left an open hole behind his ear.

His brother, who did serve, brought him a gift upon returning. He came back with his Issued Colt 1911 and two magazines and presented it to my grandfather, who kept it and used it for years until a 'friend of the family' got it off his hands, trading it for a .38 special M&P in 1968, as my father looked on.

In a box of gun junk, I came across an old box of .45acp in a canvas bag, with one of the 1911's magazines. My question is this:

The mag is totally non stamped, or labeled to my eye, barring the rust clean-up to come, and it is definitely of the period. Who might have made these mags, and what might it be worth?

If it's unmarked on the floorplate toe and IF it's WWII manufacture, it was made by Colt.
Not worth much if it's rusted.
