Cypress TX! DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS!
I have some questions (provide proof on all of these IF you can, please):

1) Are you allowed to carry ammunition in your home in Switzerland?
2) Is crime rising in Switzerland?
3) Is the current UK gun ban helping?
4) Is crime higher in states/cities with gun control?

What is the point of your question

There is a decided lean on this forum,
and we have members from the above mentioned countries

I am sure that if you bother to better phrase your question, and maybe split it to make it more applicable, and explain what you are getting at, you will get more answers

Also, this belongs in GENERAL, not legal, as you have no specific legal question.

1) While there have been some gun control efforts in Switzerland, I've not read that ammo is of concern.

2) Crime rising? If you mean violent crime, I don't know. Other crimes, yes, I've seen reports of some increase.

3) Helping in what way? From the newspapers there, it appears that there are more gun crimes now than in the past. It's more of a societal breakdown than any other cause, apparently.

4) Chicago and WashDC have long been known as murder capitals.

All these questions are regularly spoken to in daily news outlets.

Crime is rising everywhere in Europe. But something tells me the ones doing it aren't Europeans if you catch my drift.

All Guns aren't banned in the UK.
Your remark interests me because I'm from the UK and until I came to live in Texas never thought about owning a gun. I now have two revolvers, three semi-automatic handguns, and an AK-47. I carry a handgun concealed whenever legally possible to do so, which is nearly all the time. If I ever have to go back to live in the UK, what could I legally own? Would I be able to keep it in a state of readiness (a) at home, (b) in the car, (c) on my person? If I used a gun in self defense, would a court recognize a self-defense argument? I know you can't own a gun specifically for self defense but if you used a sporting gun in self-defense would that be OK if your life was at risk?

Currently in the U.K. you could not own the AK-47, or (I believe) ANY center-fire revolver or semi-auto handgun. If you used so much as single shot shotgun for defense, you would most likely face charges. I'm no expert on these things, but this is the information that I have come across.

ETA- In the U.K. there are ZERO guns allowed on your person, unless you are afield hunting. You also may never have a loaded firearm in your vehicle. The only time firearms are allowed in the vehicle is when you are a.) transporting from a dealer, or b.) traveling to a designated hunting area. Also pretty sure you cannot keep a loaded gun in your home: I'm pretty sure you must have the firearm unloaded, and secured (whatever that means).

You (again, just what I have been led to believe) must have a permit (and a reason: hunting, collecting [correct, not self-defense: a reason that makes that much sense and you will be denied for sure]) for each type of firearm, including break-action single shot shotguns.
