allrite, we all know the 1911A1 has a steel frame, but what about the 1991A1 produced by colt. im almost certain they had aluminum frames...
am i right or no?
Nope. All steel. Got one; good shooter..never any function problems. Have had couple others in trade and they too were good shooters. And if you need an all steel 1911 I got a couple NIB Norks, plus one shooter.
As has been said, the M1991A1s were all steel. In my opinion, they are one of the great sleeper guns. Usually found for less money than a polished Colt, but they are reliable and shoot great. I'm still regretting the one I sold recently.
Colt has Lite weight Commanders . Some of the officers were lite weight. The Defender and NewAgent are also alloy frame I have 2 of Commanders and 1 each Defender and NewAgent.
