I recently picked up one of the victory model revolvers offered at Summit Gun Broker (http://www.summitgunbroker.com/M_P_Victory.html). Mine is serial number V158447.

The top strap is unmarked, and there are no inspector's initials stamped anywhere, but there is a 'flaming bomb' mark on the butt. Other markings are scarce; there is an 'S' (for the upgraded safety, I presume) located on the crane, but there is no 'P' proof mark that I can find anywhere. The number 77 is unevenly stamped into the wood at the butt of the left grip.

I assume this is a DSC gun, but the ordnance bomb surprised me. Was that used on the DCS guns, or only on military-issued revolvers?

The ordnance bomb was used on DSC guns that were bought through U.S. Army Ordnance from August 1942 on.
