Ok for those of you who load for garands and have access to quickload.
Set it up to give you a pressure reading at 22" down the bore.
Then look for powders that give between 8500 and 10875psi with your bullet powder combo.
This is the range that milsurp (and commercial) ammo can deliver so anything in there will be fine.
I should add..these numbers were taken in a ballistics lab with the transducer set at the same location as the gas port on a garand. Testing including M1 ball, M2 ball, M72 and AP along with various commercial loads.
