Another new reloader question!
How reliable and accurate is QuickLOAD for you guys? I am borrowing a friends computer to test out the program and this is why I ask. I am getting completely different load values then what the reloading manuals give. For example:

Am I using the program incorrectly? Any suggestions?

Sam, if you mean how totally can you trust the loading data from QuickLoad or any other program, or manual, or web site, or "expert" friend, the only possible answer is, "You can't." It's all just a guide to give you a starting place.

No one else can possibly know what's right for any gun. ONLY you can tell what is safe or shoots well in yours because each firearm is an individual device, anwerable only to itself.

It is a guide. It is based on mathematics and calculations that is simply theoretical. Real world results are the only ones to trust.

As guidance goes. Quick Load is difficult to beat. I have found it incredibly useful to find accurate loads without too many tries, in conjunction with OBT.
Your mileage might vary...

QuickLOAD is software written by fallible humans, not divinely-inspired scripture. Make sure you compare its computations to printed load data from reliable sources, and use a chronograph to establish real performance out of your guns.

Having said that, I've found the program to be very accurate when I take the time to enter accurate data. The most important input I've found is case capacity. I've now measured a representative sampling of all my cases for water capacity, and entered the "corrected" data into the program. This simple step has tightened the program's predictive ability to a noticeable degree. I still find Power Pistol to perform much better (read "faster") than QuickLOAD predicts. The difference is either a software programming error, or my sample of Power Pistol is noticeably faster than normal. Regardless, I start my Power Pistol load development work at 20% less than QuickLOAD-computed maximums, and find that keeps me safe.

I can't imagine doing load development without it. Combined with a chronograph, it's as close to a ballistic laboratory as I'll ever get.
