What does everyone think about remingtons latest product. I saw this featured in "Americas First Freedom." Is this just another AR clone or something really worth while? It comes in .223 and ruger 204.

Yea it's a Bushy. Now that Cerberus owns Bushy and Remington they are really sporting the AR-15. What's amazing is Remington has it for $999, and Bushy has it for $1499. Hmmm

Well that was pretty much my impression. A more expensive hunting style AR when all you really need is a regular AR 15 just with the 1/7 instead of 1/9 rifling for the higher grain hunting bullets.

Given that it also comes in .204 Ruger, it's presumably for varmint hunters. Thus, it more likely needs a slower twist rate to deal with 45gr and lower.

You'd think Remington would be a 6.8 carbine with a quickness, so I wouldn't be surprised to see that coming soon.

It's not really just another Bushy. Barrel weight and design are quite different and there are different tactical mounts for specific predator hunting riggings. Although not much lighter than the bushmater predator AR it still is a little bit. I checked out some great reviews on predatormasters.com. Remington partnered up with Byron South (an experienced yote hunter) to be part of the design. Search around and see if you can find the threads.

I'm sure Remington took advantage of the bushmaster engineers in the R&D area but to say it's just another Bushy would be incorrect. Besides, another bushy would be good in my book.

Remington gets a bit more respect from me for getting into this market. Nice to see AR support for this platform!:)

Edit: Oh yeah...I'll be buying one!
