Any of you guys have any information on the R-93 regarding supposed bolt failres? I've heard that there have been several R-93 blow the bolts out the back of the reciver causing injury and or death to the shooter. Any verification of this?

Thanks H&Hhunter.

Victor,

No that was a trigger recall. If your Blaser has a P on the trigger assembly the trigger has been proofed and the problem was solved. That had to do with some defective mounting pins in the rigger assembly.

This something entirely different if it's even true. I saw it on the internet after all.;)

I've never heard anything along these lines. However if this failure occured it could be from overcharged reloads which seems to be the case in most modern firearm failures of this nature.

Protozo,

I called Blazer USA about a month ago and he did confirm that there has been a bolt failure on the R-93. The locking lugs did not fail however but the rear bolt shroud did.

He also said that a final investigation will show that the rifle in question was a .300Weatherby was firing a reloaded round and they are fairly positive that the round was reloaded with an "improper" powder such as a pistol powder.

Final comment was due out before the end of the summer.
