What is the skinny on Radical Firearms? They seem to make some very affordable ARs, uppers, and lowers. However, affordability and quality often times do not go hand-in-hand. I am interested in a 10.5" .223Rem upper and an 8.5" .300BLK upper. At $250-300, those are good prices. However, how does Radical Firearms stack up in comparison to the big-name AR manufacturers who have been around the block a time or two (Colt, Bushmaster, Armalite, RRA, Stag, Smith & Wesson, LWRC, Noveske, etc)? Thanks.

There is a reason they are so cheap...if you are a member on ARF...take a look at all the negative comments about Radical uppers.

These are the salad days of AR15s...why buy crap when you can get good AR15 uppers/rifles from reputable vendors.

Ive got a couple of their short barrel uppers on SBR's. 10 years ago if you told me I could have a 10.5" SBR in .223 that functioned 100% with every ammo I could throw at it and maintain MOA accuracy I would have told you you were crazy. My 10.5 Radical upper does just that. My 8.5 300 BO radical upper feeds and fires everything ive thrown at it. Stuff I would never try to run in the daniel defense upper it eats right up. There is no worst seal of approval than an arfcom seal of approval. Those guys would complain about winning the lottery.

My Radical Firearms upper in 6.5 Grendel has been flawless for over 500 rounds, factory loads or handloads it doesn't matter, it just eats them up. It's sub MOA with factory 123 Amax and SST. My handloads are sub MOA also. For the $$ I can't complain

I got one of their 10.5" 5.56 barrels for a pistol build. Fit and finish were flawless, and performance was as expected (never did actual "accuracy tests" with it, as it was difficult for me to get a good rest with it). A friend bought a 16" .300 Blackout upper from them, and he is likewise pleased with it. If you are building an AR15 with the expectations of it being able to stand up to the limited abuse that 99% of shooters will actually subject a firearm to, I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

I have one of their 7.62x39 AR uppers, I've shot several hundred rounds, including lots of Tula steel case without a hiccup as long as I used correct (7.62x39) magazines. After shooting AKs and SKS it turns out this caliber can be very accurate with the right rifle.
