A funny thing happened on the way to the poll ...

Should you be allowed to carry guns to work?

Yes 13%

No 79%

Depends on the job 4%

I should .....but not my psycho co-workers 1%

The only way that this could have been done is the poll was hacked or the moderators of the site have changed the results.

At 08:28 PM the results were what is posted in the post above this one.

They prolly didn't get hacked. They prolly just skewed it themselves cause they didn't get the results they wanted. Can't get everybody to follow the crowd if the crowd wants to be armed, ya know.

I wrote the newsroom at: [email protected] and also the Webmaster at: [email protected] and told them that they either have an internal personnel problem or they have been hacked. Listed the results throughout the day and explained that even if there had been enough voted to send the "no's" to 79% within a 1-1/2 hour period it would not skew the other results by a ration of as much as 8:1.

The e-mail to [email protected] was bounced back as failed -- unknown user.

Where did you get the number of votes cast that are tallied at your post? The poll results at the webpage didn't list the votes cast, only the percentages.

Amazing what happens when the poll goes the opposite from the way that those in charge want it to go....

(this is a prime example for those that repsond to poll topics with "I voted" to cut n' paste the results to the thread. If that wasn't there, it wouldn't be so blatently obvious that the fix was in)

Okay, I w4ent to the site and entered enough "votes" to change the results to the next percentage point. It took me 11 votes to move it that one point. I need some help if we are to undo what someone with too much toime on his hands has done.

The number of votes necessary to change the total will decrease as the percentages get larger.

Anybody with me? Turn off your cookies and go for it.

::cough:: well I clicked on it and the problem just seems to've magically gone away... I don't know how  of course... but umm... yeah.

Ok if you cut and paste over the entire thing including the bar graphs you get the numbers. I just punched them into my calculator and they match the percentages. I'm using Netscape 7.0, don't know if it will work the same with other browsers.
