I need to find some rail covers to cover up some midlength rails. I haven't been able to find anything specifically for midlengths. The best so far I've seen are the magpul XTM 4-packs; I could just buy a few of those and that would most likely do it, but I've heard that removing them is...bad.

Anyone have any good sites or products that they would reccomend?

Thanks in advance.

i've only had my magpul xtm covers a week now, but removing them is merely annoying. like the picture shows, two bullets and a bit of muscle and they pop right off. (heh, don't use ballistic tips like I did on my first attempt to remove them!)

the KAC rail covers are dang near everywhere for almost free. I've no idea why. they come in a large assortment and you can piece together to fit mid-length easily enough

or, you could just get carbine length and leave the last inch or two of rail open.

I read a review where the guy said that he mangled him when he 'did just as they said and used two pullets to pop them off', and that he 'ruined them'. I guess he was a nominee for the common sense/n00b award or something. I guess I'll order a couple packs and find out. I won't really plan on mounting anything on the sides soon so I won't really have any concern about it either way. thanks for the help.

Just make sure to remember that quality AR stuff is made with military use in mind; use FMJ bullets to take XTMs apart. Ballistic tips and soft points won't work well as noted, hollow points will deform the plastic.
