When I first got my Benelli SuperNova, I got a Mesa Tactical rail and side-saddle (8 shell). For a while I kind of used the rail like a rear sight (because the RDS I got broke). Now I keep 5 shells in the saddle and use the rail to hold an offset flashlight mount (perfect position for me) and a more expensive RDS.

After my range trip yesterday, I noticed the rail is starting to wobble a bit, like it's not completely seated. The POA difference at the range I'd use the shotgun is probably about an inch or so, but I'm worried it might get worse. I plan on having a gunsmith look at it, but I was just wondering if anyone else had similar issues or if you know if this is a problem with the rail, or if it might just need some TLC.

Let's get the obvious out of the way... Did you use Loctite on the screws? I've had all sorts of things come loose on a shotgun that didn't have Loctite.

(from my installation write-up when I put a Mesa rail on my SuperNova)

The SureShell carrier is set on top of the receiver and the supplied screws are started into the receiver's tapped holes after applying a drop of blue Loctite thread locker (not supplied). The torque specs on these screws are 15 inch pounds in case you happen to have a torque screwdriver. The blue thread locker will still allow you to remove the screws should you need to do so in the future. The thread locker will/should prevent the screws from vibrating loose during operation of the SuperNova.

I think now you know someone else's limitations :D

Throw some Loctite 242 ("Blue") on the screws, just a dab, and tighten them til they're snug. No need to really crank 'em down, but you know... snug.

I love a happy ending. I'm a Mesa Dealer because Mesa is Duty Quality stuff so any issues are most always install issues.
