I'd like to try out some new loads for the Ruger bolt carbine using Enforcer since I have it. I have mostly used IMR 4227 and Alliant 2400 with jacketed Sierra's (300gr. JSP), I did work up as load which was "okay" in H110, and I have some good AA#9, Unique and 2400 recipes for use with cast 240gr. LSWC bullets; but, Enforcer is new to me. Unfortunately, Western doesn't have separate listings for rifle vs. handgun data for .44Mag (and why not???) Their .44 loads are tested in an 8.275" barrel (Ruger Super Redhawk, maybe??) which is far short of the M77/44's 18-1/2" (unvented) barrel.
I guess the my questions are, is Enforcer a good carbine powder or should I really look at getting some AA#11FS for this application? Or, just be satisfied with IMR 4227 and 2400 since they work really well? Or, maybe, as a last resort, find a way to stop hating H110 and just bite the proverbial bullet and use it in the carbine loads?
