Randall Knives ?

Small world.. I was at Dong Ha after the marines left, 1971.... It was kind of lonely without them (I wasn't a combat type at all). The one item from Randall that I'd really like to own was that little brochure that came with the first models all those years ago. I believe I've seen and read some excerpts from it. I'd really like to know where I might come by a copy today.

It's been out of print for years and years. The only one I've seen is at the museum at the shop in Orlando.

I carried a #1 in Iraq a few years ago. At that time Randall had a special program that offered active duty the chance to buy a basic knife from a selection of 4 with a very short wait. I thought it was very fair of them - I still own the knife and will pass it to my sons some day.

Thanks for the info, this is a picture of the knife I was given, my father just wrapped the para-cord on the handle himself to accommodate his larger hands. Frodo that collection is awesome !! I will definately not be selling this knife ! Looking into purchasing another actually !! Sounds like they're worth the wait and any company that supports our troops like that deserves my support !!

Don't unwrap it to find out but I'm willing to bet there is a layer of fishing line and a layer of wire under that paracord. That's the recommended technique for wrapping the #18 handle.
