Spent a few hours Tuesday morning at the range, with one of my friends.
I was breaking in my newly re-stocked 7mm Ruger American. I was also comparing some of the scopes I've recently picked up. A Leupold MK4, Athlon Midas BTR, Athlon Argos (standard), and my buddy had a Vortex Diamondback, and the old S&W that was on the Arisaka I gave him that day.
We also took along a number of handfuns.
All of the rifles shot very, very well.
Both my Creedmoor, and .375 continue to be exceptionally accurate.
The new stock on my 7mm hasn't changed it's accuracy much, but it's not quite as accurate as the other two.
I also had my .22 mossberg along, and I rescoped it with the Argos.
Once again the .22 provided the most enjoyment at the relatively short 100yds. With cheap aguila standard velocity ammo, it was holding a if it's shot inside of 1.5" at 100yds. Drop was about 9-10". In fact it hit right at the junction of the Argos 10/11moa gap. This made plinking clay bits on the berm cake, when the wind didn't interfere.
After shooting a couple sub MOA groups with my Creedmoor, I started plinking stuff off the berm with that as well, and since it was zeroed dead on at 100, blasting even small stuff was easy.
The .375 only came out for 3 shots.
I took a shot at something on the target, can't remember if it was a bullet hole or just stuff.
After the first shot I told my buddy I was gonna try for the same hole again, and after that shot he dared me to do it again.....
The rest of the time was broken up with shooting the .22 and the handguns.
Here's my buddy all dressed up and rolling my SBH and 240s over 24gr of h110.
I'll dig up some pictures of the groups shot by both of use when I get home. I just tossed the target boards back in the pile without taking pictures.
