Is the Glock 26 too thick to pack concealed? I've been intrigued by the Kahr PM9, that is a nice slim package. The G26 appears almost twice as thick.

No the glock 26 is an excellent choice for CCW and plenty small to boot.

Sure the Kahr would be a better pocket gun, but is only .2" or so narrower, nowhere near half the size.

A G26 is one of the best CC weapons on the planet. I carried a G33 for a year and it concealed very well plus was exceptionally accurate. I carried a G31 mag as my spare.

It makes for a nice bug out bag weapon.......

OK, tell me more........

So what does the G26 look like from a cost perspective? Where is a good place to buy? Inquiring minds need to know.

To quote Professor Buckles, "Proper, prior, planning, prevents poor performance."

New w/out NS the gun runs around $500, i've picked up my last two for about $420 used.

If it were me, and used was ok, then i'd shop around on the various gun forums. The used market has been pretty soft lately on the sub-compacts, that's where I got both of them. One was LNIB w/Night Sites for $400 shipped and the other was a 6 month old gun for $425 FTF.

If you buy new and locally, I would just shoot for that magical $500 mark plus tax and state fees. Sportsman's Warehouse locally sells them for about that.

Good luck they great little guns,

Steve

6 inch groups at 25 yards with a Beretta 92FS? My guess is crappy ammo and or grip and trigger control issues. 2 inch or less is not unusual with the 92.
Kahrs ROCK! I own two and regularly have sub 2 inch groups with both my K9 03 Elite and my E9.

I paid $450 for everything for this used G26, and it has tritium sight pre-installed. Previous owner took good care of this piece.

92FS is not that accurate in my hand... I think it may be the ammo... but G26 ate up Wolf without a hitch. Dead on almost everytime... My hand got tired and anticipation kicked in later on, and that explained some of the "off-shots" on the plate target.

I ordered two G19 mags with mag extensions, and G26 will be CCW.

The damn thing is built like a Rock, it feels more sturdy than my HK USP Tactical.

But no one has explained to me the dead-on accuracy despite the short 3 inch barrel.....??? What is a G19 good for if G26 is as accurate and more compact?

I especially enjoyed the Glock trigger mechanism (but not so much the trigger pull, but it's okay after practice), when chambered, the hammer is only cocked 1/3 of the way, which means even without the firing pin block, when discharged at the 1/3 position by accidental drop, the hammer will not have enough force to start off the primer. Like the design because when people are caught in stressed situations, the first instinct will be to point and pull the trigger, and I have a paranoid habbit of safety the double-action pistol in the holster.... which could be dangerous if I forgot to switch off the safety. Glock prevents that.

I love the way some people cannot stop highjacking someone else's thread to drone on about a gun they have that has no relation to the topic.:banghead:

I have been looking at the 26 and 27, myself. How do you plan on carrying? I am looking to move up from a p3-at and i am curious as much about how to carry as i am about what to carry. Are you using wolf as you carry ammo?

Thanks

Oh, I carry my G26 in a Galco International Brown Leather Holster Right-Handed made for G26 ($67). Since it is winter time, I wear the holster/G26 on my thick belt and then I wear a sweater over it. People can't tell my G26/Holster apart from a Treo Cell phone case underneath my sweater, and I have a light jacket over it.

I have been trying to find the holster used by Arnold Schwartznegger in the movie "End of Days", where he concealed two G26s in his sleeves with two sleeve holsters. That was cool.

I use Corbon 9 mm as my carry ammo. Have not ran them through the G26 yet, the Corbon are too expensive just to test. But I should at least run a few rounds through it, I guess.
