I just shot my Witness for the first time today (compact model, ported barrel, wonder finish, .45ACP chambering.)
I fired about 150 rounds offhand on an indoor range from a distance of about 12 yards, target was underneath the ventilation system and was swaying on the carrier. Ammunition used was: Winchester white box, 230Gr. FMJ, CCI/Independence 230Gr. FMJ, and Remington/UMC 100 rd. bulk pack, 230Gr. HP.
Smallest group was approximately 2.5" (dont blame the gun, I'm still working on the whole pistol marksmanship thing), which was obtained with WWB. Remington/UMC came in a close second with a 3" group, while CCI/Independence brought up the rear. A normal 3 shot group with all loads resulted in 2 shots touching, with the third being a flyer (again, probably me).
No failures of any kind were noted, recoil was extremely manageable, it felt kind of like shooting a .38 special with wadcutters. Muzzle flash, even with the ported barrel was not an issue with any load tested. I will post a more in depth report when I've had more time to shoot
