I have tried a KelTec (3), Ruger and S&W Shield in 9mm single stack guns and really did not like they way they felt in my hand or the recoil. I heard that the Walther PPS was a just like the PPQ (which I love) so I ended up getting one. Took it to the range today and the people who said that it was the baby brother of the PPQ were correct.
I ran a bunch of different loads and weight bullets in it and it felt like shooting a 22. Out of 200 rounds I never had a problem. That was with loads from 80 to 100% of max loads.

Also took that AR-9 out right after I swapped out triggers. The last trip the gun ran great but wanted a lighter trigger pull. I put a 30 round clip in the gun and pulled the trigger and it shot 8 to 10 times in less than a second or 2. Next to me was a couple guy that were in the service and they stood there with their months open and the range master was behind me (out door range) and ask did the gun just go auto. What could I say. I said let me try this again a pulled the trigger really quickly and a single shot went down range. Tried it one more time and 5 to 8 rounds were fired. Dropped the magazine and put the gun up.

On a side note, I tried some Shooter's World Auto Pistol powder for the first time and it was the cleanest powder that I have shot in a 9. Next time the gun show comes back I will buy a few more types of the powder. If you reload you need to try it.

Hey RunninLate,
More than one has had your result after "swapping" triggers in some of the "AR9" platforms. I haven't had that sort of fun yet; my trigger swaps have resulted in a single shot gun with no trigger reset.
I'm currently running the ALG ACT trigger with JP reduced power springs. So far, so good.
Question: There are several Shooter's World pistol powders; which are you using?
Thanks!

ddc, I was using an ALG trigger with zero creep but close to a 6 pound break. I had a milspec trigger (with Wolff springs) that I polished with mother's to a mirror finish but did not grind or file anything.
I was using Shooter's World Auto Pistol powder. Was shooting extreme 115 and 124 grn bullets. I think that I was using between 5.7 and 6.3 gns of powder. Then I loaded some Hornady 115 XTPs with maybe 6.6 gns of Auto Pistol. That powder is ranked with Accurate 5 or 6 if I am not mistaking. The powder is very fine and only $20 per pound. Next time there is a gun show in town I am going to buy a powder for the 223 and 45-70.

Just to make sure I understand: You went full auto with the ALG trigger? Not the polished mil-spec trigger?

No, the ALG worked fine but I wanted to try a milspec that I polished (only) and that one went full auto. I put the gun up before the magazine was empty and when I got home I put the ALG back in the gun.

I just ordered a drop in trigger from Deltateamtactical.com for less than $100. Claims to have a 3# pull and list for $215.
(AR-15 M4 3.0 lb Drop in Ultra Match Trigger System Nickel Boron Finish)

I figure that I would give it a try.

Ricky

Cheers!

Have both myself, and feel pretty much the same.

I'm curious, however, why you didn't mention the difference in trigger pull between the PPQ (arguably one of - if not the - best production striker-fired trigger), and the PPS.

The PPS trigger is really my only gripe with the gun. But it's a significant gripe. At least enough to prevent me from putting it in the same class as the PPQ.

Just my .02. Glad you're enjoying your toys!

azrocks I am not going to pass judgement on the trigger until I get 500+ rounds through the gun. This is not a target gun (maybe it is - humana size targets) so the trigger pull does not mean as much as it does in the PPQ. I was carrying a SCCY DAO and S&W 640 and 642 so this one does feel better.
