Thought I would weigh in. I have owned every hand gun known to man below about $1300,so I thought I would share my experience yesterday.
I am 56, left eye dominant, and an average shooter, despite the fact I shoot probably every 2-3 weeks. I wanted to be accurate with a Glock,as I am an eminently practical person, but alas,it was not to be. I wasn't good at nintendo either ,so my trigger control probably is rooted in my earlier life.
I often buy used guns and shoot them ,simply for the experience.I recently had the chance to buy the PPS and took it and a newly acquired (to me that is) Hi Power with me to the range,Alpine in South ft Worth. I recently sold several Glocks, and very familiar with them,so I will draw some comparisons, albeit my subjective opinion, from my experience.
PPS - Shot range PMC and WWB 9mm without incident. No ftf,fte or failure to do anything. Subjectively, the recoil is greater than the G19,or G26,but a total non-issue to me. Snappy, but not like a 40 cal in a smaller gun /or fixed barrel light weight Walther copy. The trigger reset was neither as short or crisp as the Glocks, unfortunately. The striker fired trigger seems slightly crisper however.
For an average shooter, very satisfying accuracy, all the way out to 50 feet. Low mag capacity renders this an unlikely candidate for those who want to be armed for Armageddon,or at least invasion by Mexico.Mine is a First Edition Graphite, very appealing (in a manly sort of way),but not like something you worry about.(Read nickel Python.) I do not carry, but if I did, would carry the PPS. I can't continue to the Browning without a final rant: I have owned the Steyr S9,and Spingfield XD,both striker fired plastic pistols and would suggest they rank for me as follows:
PPS
Steyr S9
Glcok 19/26
