Took the Colt out to the national forest today and tried out some new .45 acp rounds. I loaded some 230gr fmj bullets I charged some of them with Buledot powder, starting at 8.5gr and went up in half grain increments to 10.5grains. I charged another set of the same bullets with Bullseye starting at 4.0gr and went up in half grain increments to 5.0. I also loaded some 200gr swc with Bluedot powder starting at 8.0gr and going up to 9.0 in half grain increments and another set was loaded with Bullseye starting at 5.0 gr and going up to 6.0 gr in half grain increments. Everything fed well with the exception on one of the fmj rounds long enough to want to bind in the clip so I just feed it in the chamber. I haven't really had time to sit down and study the targets but at first glace the lead swc's were more accruate at 30' than the fmj's. By far the most accurate round was the hottest (6.0gr Bullseye) swc.with a 2" seven shot group with no flyers which is my personal best... Hey it made me happy. I like the accuracy but it sure had a kick to it. I'm going to make up more of these rounds and see what kind of accuracy they get at longer distances and still look around and see if I can't find that perfect plinking round for my gun. Anyone got a comment or suggestion on these loads I'd enjoy them. CCI large pistol primers, Trim to .888, OAL 1.275

No it didn't happen. It was actually less than 2" @ 30'. 1.87" to be exact. And I've seen guys shoot 1911's a lot better than that. Where have you been, anyway?

I don't think Smokey Joe was calling you a lair. My guess is he was just poking fun.
W/o pix it never happened.

There is a lot of others on here that like to see the picks just to tell you that you did a good job. Even with a picture you could still lie about distance so its not even proof.
