Went out to the place we locals go to shoot yesterday and found that someone had built and installed an awsome shooting bench. Made out of steel with a wood top. The bench and seat are cemented into the gtound and rock solid. From the craftsmanship and materials used I can tell who did it. Thank you Chuck.

This is not a formal range by any means just a place on public land where the people from our small community go to shoot.

TAKE IT? I doubt it. This bench has all four 2" pipe legs set in 2 feet of cement.
I called Chuck to thank him and he told me he and his wife planted it pretty deep.
He and his wife have a Home Repair bussines and build their stuff to last.

Post a pic if you can. Sounds interesting. I've been toying with the idea of building one for use at the house. Lots of open space to shoot and always looking for design ideas.

My company bought and installed an 8-person "company picnic table" behind our building in a nice grassy area. It was very thoughtful and highly appreciated by employees who only get 30 minutes to eat, but want to "get away".

Anyway, the very first week it was installed thieves tried to take it. Thankfully, our crack installation department had sunk 4 barbed rods, each 6 feet deep during the install. Low-lifes never cease to amaze. With half the effort they could have gotten a paying job.

Thanks Chuck.

Near me, on BLM (public) land, the govt made a nice parking area for about 20 vehicles, paved with gravel with a pipe and rope wire enclosure to mark the area. Wasn't more than a couple of months a few miscreants cut the wire out of the pipes and stole it. Probably the same guys who shot holes in the "NO SHOOTING" signs next to the bicycle trails.:cuss:
