Just got back from the range with my dad! :) We went to the Firing Line in Huntington Beach, if anyone is familiar with it.

First we rented a S&W 4" .357 (Don't know the model number) and put about 50 rounds of .38 through it. It was kinda funny watching him trying to open the cylinder, because he pushed the cylinder release in every direction but the one you're supposed to, and while my first instinct was to watch it play out he is a new shooter, so i helped him open it. :p

Next was the SW99 full-size 9mm. I now understand what all the fuss is about those things. Easily the most comfortable to hold of the guns we shot, and i love the trigger. Sadly, all good things must come to an end which is exactly what happened when (i think) the extractor flew off and the spent case failed to eject. The slide was slightly out of battery and smoke was pouring out of everything (Even the magazine O_O) so we took that up front, where they exchanged it for...

The Beretta 92FS. Hands down, my new favorite gun. A pain in the ??? to load, but everything else more than makes up for it. This one was my dad's favorite too, and the most accurate of the three. We finished off our remaining 9mm, then took it up front and left.

All in all it was the best time i've ever had shooting, even better because my dad really enjoyed it and i think he's starting to lose some of his Anti tendancies :D Can't wait to go back and do it again some time, and i'm asking for a family membership for christmas.
