ranger/marlin 22 bolt removal

its time to clean up grandpa's old ranger 22 (same as marlin model 81, ive been told). bolt action, tube fed, feeds 22 short, long, lr. seems no manual or info on the net, probably too old. i cant figure out how to remove the bolt, anyone know? thanks

On my Marlin 25N bolt action you have to pull the trigger while sliding out the bolt.

nope, just tried it, doesnt work. the bolt seems to be attached to the tube mag some how, and the tube mage is permanently attached to the barrel, so there must be some trick to disconnecting the bolt?
